The FAST SERIAL Competition continues to discover new talent and support the growth of the rapidly expanding microdrama industry.

Microdramas continue to strengthen their position in the Russian media market. On the Russia 24 TV channel, Production founder Vladimir Sivov spoke about the rapid growth of the short-form vertical drama market and the increasing interest of international platforms in Russian content.

"I believe Chinese platforms and other streaming services are seeing a growing Russian-speaking audience. As a result, they're increasingly looking for Russian-language content," said Vladimir Sivov.

To date, Production has released more than 20 vertical drama series. The company has also launched its own streaming platform, Kinolenta, featuring a library of original microdramas produced in-house.

The feature on a national TV channel marks another milestone in the growing recognition of vertical dramas and their future potential. Production continues to expand its slate of vertical series and contribute to the development of this emerging segment of the Russian film and entertainment industry.

The team at Production Studio took part in VKLYUCHAYSYA 2026, one of Russia's largest children's media festivals, bringing together young creators, media studios, and media industry professionals from across the country.

Executive Producer Katerina Morskova and Chief Director Evgeny Danilkin delivered a lecture titled What Are Microdramas and How to Make Them? During the session, they explored the unique characteristics of the microdrama format, the reasons behind its rapid growth, and the key principles of creating short-form stories that capture viewers' attention from the very first seconds.

Participating in the festival provided an opportunity to share practical experience with aspiring creators and future media professionals, as well as discuss the latest trends shaping the content industry.

In 2026, the festival's competition received 374 submissions from 167 media studios representing 82 cities across Russia, from the Republic of Crimea to the Far East. The program featured expert reviews of конкурс entries, masterclasses led by industry professionals, project pitching sessions for children's media studios, and meetings with representatives of Russia's leading media companies.

The VKLYUCHAYSYA Festival serves each year as a platform for knowledge sharing, professional development, and the exchange of new ideas in children's and youth media. For the Production Studio team, the event was an important opportunity to showcase modern content formats and share their expertise with the next generation of media creators.

Production has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with Magnum Production, one of Egypt's leading media companies. The new partnership marks an important step in the company's international growth strategy and creates new opportunities for expansion in the global media market.

Under the agreement, the parties plan to collaborate across several key areas. These include the co-production of microdramas and the development of content for international audiences, as well as the distribution of finished productions by leading Egyptian producers across the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) and other global markets. The partnership will also place a strong focus on the international localization of content.

The company also highlighted the contribution of Hadi Safa, Head of the MENA Region. His proactive approach, initiative, and consistent efforts helped create the foundation for cooperation between the two companies and contributed to the successful signing of the memorandum.

The signed agreement lays the foundation for large-scale international projects, combining the partners' professional expertise and creative capabilities while further strengthening their positions in the global media market.

From Concept to Screen: HSE University Launches a New Course with Production Industry Experts

Every day, the Production team works with millions of viewers worldwide through the Kinolenta platform, giving us a front-row seat to the rapidly evolving world of digital entertainment. What began as an experimental format has quickly become one of the fastest-growing segments of the global content industry: short dramas.

This February, the Institute of Film at HSE University will launch "Microdramas: The Writers' Room," an intensive course designed to help shape the next generation of creators in digital storytelling.
